🇮🇹 How we sent an Italian profile to ESCP

🔍 Today we’re going though how we sent one of our students to ESCP’s Master in Management:

Context:

Giacomo came to us hesitating between masters in finance and masters in management, hesitating between ESCP, Bocconi, and Imperial. He had a decent GPA, from a decent University in Italy but did not want to take the GMAT.

The Makeover:

1.Strategic Guidance - we went over Giacomo’s career aspirations (location, mobility, network,..) to best assess the programs suited for him given his profile

➡️ This allowed us to establish his adequate list of masters.

Giacomo’s CV was lacking in concise, quantified, precise bullet points and expected structure

➡️ We worked alongside him turn his CV into a top-tier Goldman/Mckinsey standard CV to maximise first impressions.

2.Reference Letters - an often highly overlooked part of the process is not guiding your referees in crafting highly laudatory recommendation letters. This will lead to you having similar letters/reco forms to other candidates.

➡️ We worked with him to set expectations and guide his referees to strong letters. The LoR part can often be decisive in a student application as it is the only place in your application file when you can talk about yourself with someone else‘s voice.

3.Story - without a doubt one of the most important aspects of a candidate’s file.

➡️ We helped Giacomo play up on his Italian heritage and background for programs very attentive to international propensity, linking it with his aspirations to pursue the local real estate private equity scene in Milan in the long term.

4.Interview Prep - once the interview was secured, it was all about matching Giacomo with the right talents to help him succeed and convert the final stage.

➡️ We matched him with three of our in-house talents for 5 different mocks, which were in his case sufficient to make him highly prepared, with Jacoppo, an Italian student (LBS/INSEAD/ESCP), Thomas (LBS/INSEAD/ESCP), and Pietro (ESSEC/ESCP) who knew exactly how to navigate the interview and guide Giacomo to success.

Result? ➡️ Admission to his desired program :)
