Securing your admit at Harvard

Wondering what it takes to secure an admit to HBS? Here are a few vital pointers that came out of these year’s admits.

We’d like to give you a cheesy answer about how every successful applicant is different in his or her way, but it would be beside the point. You surely need to differentiate yourself in your narrative but the truth is, from our experience, that there are five essential traits that you cannot go by if you want to make it into such a selective school:

🌏 1. Strong international experience and cultural awareness - business schools are global, show them you are too.

🦅 2. Clear career vision and demonstrated potential to achieve it - give a LOT of thought to your ST (3y) & LT (5y) career plan. If you don’t have an exact idea - build one !

🏫 3. Contribution to the school's community - leverage your extracurricular experience and have clear examples of where you would fit in the school’s associative life.

🧠 4. Impeccable & detailed knowledge about the school - you need to know the brochures, specializations, specificities, classes, exchanges, etc… by heart!

👨‍🎨 5. Distinctive & personal storytelling - what makes you different? What story will let your interviewer think about you after having read a pile of 200 applications?
